WWS, or Warcraft Web Stats, is a great way to find out what really happened during a boss encounter. Forlorn Legacy employs this tool in order to evaluate raid members and to obtain tactical information. WOL, World of Logs is an alternative to WMO that we will use on occasion. 
 Ever wondered how to record and upload your combat log to popular sites like WoW Meter Online or WoW Web Stats? Well believe it or not, it's actually extremely simple. Just follow a few simple steps... Step 1: Download and Install LoggerHead at Curse. LoggerHead is a mod for WoW that will automatically enable your combat log recording feature whenever you enter or exit and instance. Step 2: Let's configure LoggerHead so that it will record combat log data for only a few select instances. Start by loading up WoW if you haven't already, at your character selection screen click Addons and ensure LoggerHead is enabled, once you've done that go ahead and login to the character that you raid on. Hit escape to get into your Game Menu options, from there, select Interface. You should see two tabs, "Game" and "AddOns." Select the AddOns tab and scroll down to LoggerHead. Look to your right and you should see all of the options for the LoggerHead mod.  From here you will be able to select what instances or zones you want the combat log to run in. Personally, I only record raid instances but you can also record 5 man instances if you'd like. Once you've chosen all your options click "Okay" at the bottom of the menu. Your combat log should be ready to go, now go do one of the instances you've selected! Step 3: Now that you've completed an instance your combat log should be full of data and ready to upload. There are two major combat log parsing services - WoW Meter Online and WoW Web Stats. They're both essentially the same product with a few minor differences. Both services will require you to sign up before being able to upload. Once you've signed up for an account you're ready to upload! WoW Meter Online Client - The client can be loaded by going to the WMO homepage and clicking "Upload." Once the client has loaded the first thing you'll want to do is enter your account information, click on the "Configuration" tab and enter your email address and password. Go back to the "Upload Combatlog" tab and click browse, from here you'll want to find your WoWCombatLog.txt file, which resides in your World of Warcraft install folder (C:/Program Files/World of Warcraft/Logs). Once you find the log file, give your log a name, I usually just put in the Instance followed by the date but you can put in whatever you'd like. After this is all done click "Start Parsing" and the client will upload your data!  WoW Web Stats Client - The WWS client can be launched by clicking on the big "Client" button at the top of the WWS homepage. From here, it's essentially the same was the WMO client. Enter your account information in the Configuration tab, then go back to "Upload Report." Click "Add a combat log" and find your WoWCombatLog.txt file (C:/Program Files/World of Warcraft/Logs). You can also add a comment to the log, for organizational purposes. Once all this is done, click "Host Report" and the client will upload your data and open the webpage with your parse.  |
